In order for All Films 5 to affect our images, we need to first ensure that Capture One’s Curve (not Curves) tool in Base Characteristics is set to Film Standard. What’s important is that you find the method that works for you. Fujifilm specifics Capture One, necessarily, handles Fujifilm X-Trans files in a slightly different way to other cameras, and thus RNI came up against another hurdle with this.
There’s not one path that is right for everyone. This applies whether you are using the Fujifilm or F ull version of Capture One. Whether you rely strictly on straight-out-of-camera JPEGs, or you edit your JPEGs, or you post-process your RAW files, film simulation recipes can be used on your Fujifilm camera to help you get the look that you want.

If you shoot RAW, Capture One will compensate for the way the camera underexposes, and you will see the correctly exposed image, but it doesn’t compress the highlights. This happens automatically in-camera when you shoot Jpeg and you never notice it. The way these work in-camera is that they lower the exposure on capture, and then in post they compensate but compress the highlights to retain more information.
